The objectives of Kokusai Budoin • Kokusai Budorenmei, IMAF, include the expansion of interest in Japanese Marital Arts; the establishment of communication, friendship, understanding, and harmony among members chapters; the development of the minds and bodies of its members; and the promotion of global understanding and personal growth.
In 1951, a group of Japan’s most prominent martial artists from a variety of disciplines gathered to discuss the role of classical martial arts in rebuilding Japan. Kokusai Budoin • Kokusai Budorenmei, International Martial Arts Federation (IMAF) was established to create and maintain a world-class organization based on the values of traditional Japanese martial arts – Budo, with chapters throughout the world to support fellowship among people everywhere.
